Spring Cleaning Workplace Culture

    March 2013           Executive Intelligent Blog

The last time you walked into an office building for the first time, how did you feel being in that environment?  Did you feel initially relaxed or did you stiffen up and stand taller? As you looked around, what did you notice about the people working?  How did they interact with you and direct you toward your destination?  All of these questions reflect the culture of a workplace.

Workplace culture is so powerful, whether your mind is paying attention to it or not, your body notices it.  That is because the culture reflects the attitudes, actions, values, and goals of an organization.  These are not things to be taken lightly.  Workplace culture has an overwhelming effect on the people of the organization and the people generate your results and financial outcomes.

Here are three things you can do to put a fresh coat of paint on your culture.
             1)  Seek input from staff on a new project or initiative.
             2)  Communicate the larger impact and value of a situation.
             3)   Give positive support to each member of your team.

Happy Springtime!
